Multiculturalism has failed in Germany, a World-Renowed Bastion of Multiculturalism

Now I want you to try a typical psychological experiment, related to the fabled “forbidden experiment” attempted by the great Pharaoh Psammeticus: take a young child, preferably one whom you have forcibly abducted and imprisoned in your basement, and say one word: “Multiculturalism”. Nine times out of ten the child will shout “Germany!” in response, even if the child has never heard of Germany and even if the child is mostly incapable of speech (or, more importantly, escape).

During the genocide in Rwanda, during the genocide in Cambodia, during the genocide in Darfur, during the Armenian genocide, during the Holodomor, and yes, even during the Holocaust, there were countless people who loudly proclaimed in a single resounding voice: “This would never happen in Germany!” This nation has, since the hallowed days of the Roman Empire, been known the world over for its renowned acceptance and tolerance of even the strangest foreign cultures, welcoming with wide open arms countless numbers of Jews, Gypsies, and other numerous myriads of refugees who had nowhere else to go. Thanks to its grateful embrace these same cultures have prospered and blossomed as proud and equal members of German society. Not a soul on Earth would consider these German hosts of even the slightest impoliteness, and, generally, when someone on Earth is trouble, when a nation falls or when a tyrant rises, the first place everyone thinks of going to is—you guessed it—Germany. As a proud Jew, I know that’s the first place I would want to go; and I know I’m certainly not the only one.

But now the German Chancellor Angela Merkel is saying things are different. “Multiculturalism is dead”, she has declared; Germany’s flirtation with the outside world is over; all non-Germans should either be expelled or imprisoned in special camps. These people, these kooky Muslims, just can’t work up the gumption to put aside their weird clothes, abandon their ancestral religion and culture, expunge all traces of their annoying accents, whiten their skin, shave their beards, dye their hair, and stop bombing subways whenever someone cracks a joke about Mohammad—they are incapable of looking, acting, and being, exactly like us, so to hell with them.

Such things would never be said in America. Everyone knows perfectly well that even the whitest country gentleman from the deepest farthest reaches of the south courts the poorest Mexican immigrants with open arms, and provides them with all the dignity and financial respect they, as human beings, deserve. Why, the whole revolutionary Tea Party movement sweeping across the country has been about nothing but opening up our borders and providing immigrants with equal rights! Just look at our president. No one doubts that he is a true American.

Getting back to Germany. A now-disgraced German politician uttered the following words—

Integration requires effort from those that are to be integrated. I will not show respect for anyone that is not making that effort. I do not have to acknowledge anyone who lives by welfare, denies the legitimacy of the very state that provides that welfare, refuses to care for the education of his children and constantly produces new little headscarf-girls.

Thilo Sarrazin

I can proudly say that no one in America has ever implied such things, and that the situation in the land of the free and the home of the brave is much different. Multiculturalism is far from dead in America. Americans everywhere are happy that their demographics are changing, and everyone is thrilled about our first black president, specifically because he is black—and all those pesky nitpickers who say he spent too much money trying to revive a dead economy said the exact same thing when the former president, a man named George W. Bush, attempted to implement a similar pseudo-Keynesian economic policy. Plus, anyone who goes too far, anyone who breaks the law in America, knows that if convicted he will surely be eaten alive by crocodiles.

It saddens me to see that a nation synonymous with multiculturalism has now given up on the concept; I think that if Germany were to draw its inspiration from America, and buck up for the looming tide of slightly-different looking human beings that’s ready, even now, to sweep over its borders and deluge its purebred populace in inferior genetics, things might be better.
